Exciting News for Corfu Match 2021

Corfu Match, organized by Corfu Sailing Club, has been chosen to be part of the European Match Race Tour for 2021. After a difficult 2020 due to the pandemic with COVID-19, where Corfu Match had to cancel the event, the organizers are already looking forward to 2021 with big news. Corfu Match, the only international match racing event in Greece is part of the prestigious European Match Race Tour. The best match racing teams from Europe are taking part in the Tour and they are expected to be in Corfu from 13-16 of May for the 2021 edition of Corfu Match which will be very exciting. Six stops plus the Grand Final are planned for the 2021 European Match Race Tour in France, Sweden, Montenegro, Russia, Austria and among them also in Corfu, Greece.

The Corfu Match was organized for the first time back in 2013 and immediately was embraced by the best teams in Greece as it was the first match racing event away from Athens. In 2018 the event became for the first time an international event with the participation of 10 teams from Greece and all Europe. The Corfu match nowadays is considered the most important event in Greece and now is aiming even higher for 2021, being chosen to be part of the European Match Race Tour. Corfu Match is held in the center of the beautiful city of Corfu island, in Garitsa Bay where it is visible to the whole city and is organized by the prestigious Corfu Sailing Club situated inside the Old Fortress of Corfu, in a fantastic area surrounded by the archeological site of the Old Fortress. It is the biggest club in the Ionian Sea and one of the biggest in Greece.
